Delaware Asks Exotic Pet Owners to Get a License

It seems to be the latest fad going on with pet owners. It is the need to have an exotic pet. Owning a cat or dog isn’t enough anymore. Pet lovers want to be able to own boa constrictors, spiders, large snakes and monkeys just to name a few of the exotic pets that are starting to make their way across Delaware state lines.

In a recent session of the Delaware State Congress, lawmakers have reintroduced the idea that exotic pet owners, exotic pet sellers and retails stores must obtain a license in order to own, sell or keep any type of exotic pets.

It is believed that by requiring these people to obtain a license the state will be able to keep track of just how many exotic pets are coming into the state and where they are located. In recent years there has been a massive amount of exotic pets brought into the state and then let loose when the owners no longer wanted them. A license will prevent this type of thing from happening and if it does the animals can be tracked down to their owners.

While the law has many good intentions there are many critics who believe that this is just another way to cash in on innocent state residents. They cite that owning an exotic pet is hard enough between the lack of vets that will take care of the exotic animal as well as the fact that many pet insurance policies do not cover exotic animals. This means that anything that goes wrong with the exotic animal is an out of pocket expense for the owner. Critics believe that exotic pet owners already pay enough that adding a licensing fee will just raise prices even higher.

The bill will be voted upon sometime in 2011 as many lawmakers are still weighing public opinion on it.

Choosing a holiday destination for the entire family is a nightmare. With the youngest family members wanting amusement parks and rides in their trip whereas adults want clubs, bars, and peace on their trip. It’s too hard to mix both when the two are complete opposites. Whoever decides the place is at the center of criticism while during the trip and there after every time they remember about the trip. Hence planning a trip has to include something for everyone. Delaware in one of the few places in America where you can find something for everyone to enjoy.
Decide what you like to do first instead of deciding the destination. Like hiking, amusement parks, tanning, just relax or eat. Consult all the family members what do they like to do. Once you do this, the hardest part is over. All you have to do now is find suitable destinations in Delaware which match these choices. It is certain that you can find almost anything that anyone desires from a vacation in Delaware. Hence find a guide or books that list all the places found in Delaware. Using the internet is also a great source to make planning trips. Use maps to chart out even the route and make stops between the way to other destinations. This will add the little cherry on the top to your holiday. Some of the best destinations that every family member enjoys in Delaware are the Wood side Farm Creamery, Biggs museum of American-art, the Bombay Hook National park and many more such wonderful destinations. These destinations offer fun and entertainment for the entire family. Proper planning is very necessary to an enjoyable experience. If you lack planning, then the whole trip will be a stressful and chaotic nightmare. Enjoy your trip in Delaware. It is going to be a trip you are unlikely ever to forget.
